In researching this company I was taken aback with trying to look at weather Market America is a legitimate company or truly a scam. The first thing that hit me really hard is….. if this company is a scam, how have they been around for almost 20 years and how have been able to keep stellar growth each and every year? I have to scratch my head on that one. But, if you look deep into the pages that claim this company is indeed a scam, one is hard pressed to find substance to backup the claim. Well, let’s dig into the facts on this company.

MARKET AMERICA – THE COMPANY

The company was founded in 1992 by JR Ridinger who is the President/CEO. In just over 19 years, JR and his team of leaders have built the company to where it is today. With more than 3 million preferred customers and over 180,000 distributors and franchise owners worldwide, that is not too bad of growth in that short amount of time.  But how does one accomplish this, what is so unique about this company?

Well, for one thing, they don’t have any product of their own, they don’t manufacture anything themselves, they don’t invent anything; they don’t even come up with the ideas of what to sell. So you have to wonder how the heck they are building a company that big that fast. Market America is a supplier of what people want, the consumer drives what Market America offers in their web portal.  Market America does private label some products like, cosmetics, pet supplies, and health and wellness products to name a few, all driven by the wants and needs of the world wide shopper. Market America then searches out the best and brightest manufacturers in the world to formulate the very best products on the market today. Now that is pretty amazing.

Let’s talk a little more about their web portal. Market America has developed the largest and most diverse shopping web portal anywhere on the internet today. The total number of products offered on Market Americas site is much larger than Amazon.com. WOW, that is saying something. Industry experts believe that in the coming very short years, 3-5, Market America will exceed Amazon in annual volume.

WHY A SHOPPING PORTAL?

If you look at the direction of most retail suppliers, the majority have an internet sales division of some sort. Target has target.com, Best Buy is huge on line, book sellers, you name it, and more than likely it is sold on line. Why the push for on-line sales. Simple, overhead savings by the retail companies, they do not have the cost of running a brick and mortar stores with sales employees and all the costs that are associated with retail. Bigger bottom lines for the retail companies means much happier shareholders. When the retailer can save money, those savings are passed down in the form of lower prices for the consumer as well, when shopping on-line. Retail companies know that the trend all over America and worldwide is a move towards buying on line. The growth of on-line shopping has increased each of the  last 10 years. Online shopping is exploding! The problem is for some shoppers, changing their shopping habits from store front to on-line can be a slower process. One of the difficulties of online shopping is it can be a pain to go from site to site to do your shopping. Market America has developed a one stop shopping experience for the consumer, what Market America calls the “Mall Without Walls”. Market America has partnered with thousands of the biggest and best retail companies to give the consumer one place to do all their shopping. Welcome to Market America’s web portal, it is truly impressive.

SO, IS MARKET AMERICA A SCAM OR NOT??

The more I investigate the scam claims on the internet; the less am convinced of such claims. I have not found anything that really is a compelling argument or any documented proof of any scam by Market America. I surly did find some who say it was a scam but you have to wonder, if they have no proof other than they did not make money, who got scammed, the former Market America representative or the company itself? I am sure there were a number of reps who tried to help these people become successful within the Market America business plan, but like any business, you get out what you put in.

So, it is my humble opinion that Market America is not only NOT A SCAM, but rather a truly good company. When you take a look at Market America as a possible business opportunity, now that is something I will talk about soon in a coming article. When you look at that side of this Network Marketing business, it  is something even more amazing!
